I need to change my front discs and pads - I've read all the posts I can find on recommendations for make etc.

Is it worth fitting drilled front discs to my '86 2.5na to uprate the braking with standard pads?

If so can someone recommend a supplier. Thanks!

I've run drilled or grooved in the past. Be careful of drilled as they can crack around the drills holes. TBH they don't make a fantastic difference apart from bragging rights in the pub. I tend to use EBC Greens on standard discs & find them more than adequate even under spirited driving.

I used drilled on my 968 sport, purely for the look behind the cup 2's.
Actual braking performance was not noticeably improved or degraded either under road use or track use. I did find that drilled discs squeaked more - but this may have been my car only?

I bought mine from EMC motorsport for quite a lot more than OPC prices for standard discs. TBH I would be inclined to stick with OE discs and upgrade pads.

Thanks guys - Interestingly Berlyn are asking only £5 more per disk for Porsche part number replacements at £65 - but standard vented Pagid discs are less than £30 each!

I agree that the drilled discs look fantastic :D but it's a bit more braking power that I'm after. It concerns me Jim that you've experienced them cracking - that's a blighter.

Perhaps I'll change the pads & go for those Pagid discs, get a brake fluid bleed & when the rears need changing then consider drilled all round - especially if they're not going to offer up better performance.

I've purchased new front and rear Sebro drilled discs for my 968 and I'll be using EBC green pads. I bought the discs from www.Eurocarparts.co.uk and I'm sure they'll have some for your 2.5.

I'm waiting for my front calipers being posted back to me from Classic car Automotive after the full overhaul and re paint. Once it's all back together and I've had chance to bed them in and use them properly I'll post a report.
