They were cursed over and over at the body shop. They don't flod in, there not water tight and came losse, and caused one of my door cards 2 get damp. There's even, a litte dent in the modle. Not worth £350 that's 4 sure

Flags on a 944 everytime for me though they do look smart on a 964, even though fitted from Stuttgart the 968 does not suit them IMO of course.

t3rra,

Don't want to ask you stupid questions but...

1. Have you got the mirror mount gaskets fitted properly?
2. Have you got the correct 968 door mirror mounts?
3. Have you got the little blanking cap that fits over the 4mm hex screw in the mirror mount?

I had the teardrop mirrors retro fitted onto mine with no problems. If you post up some pictures of your mirrors, I'll see if I can spot anything obvious as to why they may be leaking.

There leaking casue there shit quatly, there fibre glass reps. They were all I could find 4 2 months. Got rubber gascits, and iv had the old mount hole filed and new one made, there oblong , so there is a gap but it was the only way 2 line up the fit. I may remove then refit with some silcone 2 get a water tight seal and hide it with the ome gaskits.

t3rra,

You could have used the existing mounting hole from the flag mirrors. All you need is the 968 door mirror mounts and gaskets. Should make a real tight fit when on the door. Part numbers are as follows:

Mirror Base - 945.731.241.00 - £28.56 + VAT
Mirror Base - 945.731.242.00 - £28.56 + VAT
Door Gasket - 944.731.247.00 - £1.90 + VAT
Door GAsket - 944.731.248.00 - £1.90 + VAT

These parts I obtained through OPC Leeds. The mirrors cost me £180 off eBay. With the spraying it probably was around £300 all in. Quite a lot for a set of mirrors that gives no better view than the flag mirrors but just makes the car look a whole lot better. I just look over my shoulder to check the blind spot before overtaking.

Hope those numbers help.

I prefer a decent size mirror, the Alfa had teardrop shaped mirrors & they were a bl00dy nightmare as you could lose a complete car in the blind spot. Also they are a frequent target to get nicked in certain areas apparently.

I was waiting and waiting 4 a real set, these are from club sport auto, and they come with the door base fixed 2 the mirror body, and even the it's not perfect. There's 2 long 8 mill treaded axle peaces fixed but a nut and washer at each end, these are used 2 fit the mirrors 2 the door. Cost was£350. Bit much 4 the quity. Wouldn't recomened at tht price, but that is ome glass and gaskits.

Hmmm, sounds pricey mate for a non OME set TBH. Ah well, we all live and learn. If it makes you feel any better, it took me 10 months searching eBay to find a set of teardrop mirrors at a sensible price. Even then, I had to strip them to fit the 968 door mounts and gaskets. There was also the price of having them professionally sprayed. Would I do it again??? Probably not. I think they look tons better than the flag mirrors but they still suffer with the same blind spot problems as the flag mirrors. I took a gamble buying them off eBay. Fortunately for me, all the motors, mirrors and heating elements all worked.
