I have a rattle coming from the exhaust. I have a 944s 1988. The exhaust on my car has 3 boxes, the large one under the centre of the car is rattling. I have looked at the parts cataolgue for the 944s and it only seems to have 2 boxes for the exhaust can anyone help.

As far as I know the 944S and the S2 have the same design exhaust and the S2 only has two boxes one at the back and one in the middle which on certain later models is a Cat, I know the earlier 944s and 924S had two larger boxes and a smaller one in the middle, maybe you have one of those fitted or another type of aftermarket system.

Sounds like a baffle or heat sheild loose on the centre box. Never seen a 944 with 3 boxes should be one in the middle & one at the back. Just had a quick through PET & that is only 2 boxes.
