http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stunning-Porsche- ... 1156wt_948

just came across this. Looks like a 944 with a 924 engine?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1988-PORSCHE-944- ... 1630wt_948
Are these seats original? Red leather and carpet? Piping on the front none on the back and the door cards are also black, most coulored leather has macthing door cards? Mine dosnt hopefully were get 2 the bottom of that one I'm sure.

First one a bit unsure of, don't look like a Carrera to me. The body looks 944 but engine is deffo 924 Turbo.
The second one has a can-can interior, could be original & was a bl00dy expensive option at the time. Possibly doctored door panels but just possible it had these originally.

It's has a carrear badge pannel thts about it. 944 bumper, 944 rear. Mileage was 20500 ish, but there was no more room for another digit,? Yes the price. !

If the red interour was ome/factory wouldn't the rear also have coloured piping? Also the carpet didn't look as thick?

Also bhp 220? 1988- 250

Bruce do you have any pics? Of yours? How's ur boxer search going? Don't fancy a 944 turbo S ?

first one is a 924 turbo with 944 wings, some aftermarket GRP kits are available, 924 carrera GT/ turbo front panel, turbo bonnet, or maybe GRP replica

£6,000 is a VERY strong price for a Series 1 Turbo, even a very clean one. If you took a clean straight car and added GRP panels then youd decimate its value... This car has a 944 look body conversion, probably all made out of GRP. The only thing that looks like a 924 CGT are the front wings, as theyre identical (although they were PU on the 937). Its a shame that they didnt opt for the 937 look when they started, as itd have more chance for selling for a decent amount if it was otherwise good.

I'd love to post pics of my old 944S's interior but it just keeps saying image is invalid  If anyone can tell me how you doctor the image to put it on here I would really appreciate it.
I am tempted to get another 944 and the fact I could now afford a Turbo or an S2 is even more tempting but I fancy a change as I feel I will always drive Porsche's from now on and may as well try out different ones especially as they become affordable to me. Does anyone else feel the same way? As for the Boxster search it looks like I've bagged one and will hopefully be picking it up this week (the same time I go on annual leave from work :D ) details to follow in a few days in my original post "It is with deep regret"

Brucey, image needs to be a jpeg of around 150Kb or so, download www.irfanview.com to resize if needed.

I feel the same the way and can't stop looking @ 928's. I have looked at a couple of newer 944's but haven't even re-built the one I have. I think I need therapy, or just my 944 back on the road at least.

I hope your new car is a winner and you really enjoy it. I look forward to pictures.

Lee.

924 GCT have 375bhp!? ( retailed £34,630 ) weight 945kg. Must of been extremly quick. Normal 924 cost ( £9103 ) in the same year.

The eBay car, I'm sure had 944 rear wheel archs.

I found another mismacth car in a local car dealership, which I see on the way 2 work, it c reg, 924 all do it's been debagde. With 944 front bumper ( fog lights) and wings. Red, all Black lnside, half leather half logo seats. Rears are badly riped with the foam showing. Early 924 wheels, 8 spoke ones with the hub caps. The lager 944 rear spoiler which is badly fitted. rear wiper arm. Porcshe side scriptes. Over all the paint look new ish. With a new bonnet badge. But the wipers arm front and rear have been sparyed red, which is now a pinky White.

And it's up 4 £2500. I don't no how mercancly sound it is.

Bruce it's a 944 2 me not a Porsche. But all do I'm not keen on boxer or most other Porsche shapes. Do like, 993 rs. 996 turbo caymen looks nice moving, looks quite award still. I would encurge you 2 find and get the car 4 you.

Thanks mate, the way I look at it is if I decide it aint for me then I'll keep it for a year and then sell it and it that time I'll have it in showroom condition (as I near enough did with the 944S) so I would probably get my money back or even make a bob or two and then I could buy another 944, 968 or 928 or even an early 911. So worst case scenario is I end up driving a Porsche Boxster for a year! I don't know how I'm gonna cope with such a hardship
I think if most people on here are honest they will agree with the statement "Owning any Porsche isn't a bad thing" :D

THe 924 Carrera GT had 210bhp. The GTS had 245bhp and was available as a Clubsport spec racer. The GTR had 375bhp but it was an out and out race car.
