After keeping it stock for seceral years, I decided to begin upgrading my 1986 951 to my personal preferences. I think I may have finally finsihed (famous last words I know:)). I was curious as to what else you guys would improve on, change or otherwise add to this build. Thanks in advance for any insight, thoughts or opinions. Here is the list: **btw...I already have an 87 getting the LS6 conversion, so not that to this one! 71,313 original mile 1986 Turbo 944: ENGINE: Vitesse Racing: MAF, Chips, V-Flex software, Vitesse Piggyback/laptop programmable, Vitesse electronic boost controller, BOSCH 83lb injectors, BOSCH 3bar~FPR ~PowerHaus Racing K27DR Turbo, TiAL 38mm Wastegate, Full Stainless Steel 3" FabSpeed catless exhaust & downpipe, head re-deck and polish w/ Cometic HG, SFR IC pipes, Innovate LC-2 wideband, MagnaCore wires, ALL new vacuum hoses & fittings, new plugs/rotor/speed & reference sensors/DME & AC relays, venturi delete, heater control valves and plumbing, new power steering lines/seals/hoses, new~updated water pump/timing belt/tensioner/rollers, new TPS, balance shaft seals, manifold gasket, cam housing gasket, AOS seal, alternator + belt, AC conversion to 134a. As paul says a 3 litre block is about all thats left, maybe a set of KW's. I notice you don't list an intercooler upgrade or a strut brace but I'm assuming you just missed then out. It looks like you want it as a road car, personally I'd look at loosing a bit of weight, polycarb hatch, fibreglass seats etc. Nice list of mods. |

LSD & a gearbox rebuild to cope with the power? Looks like a lot of fun.
