£461 from Adrian Flux £266 from Footman James Awaiting call back from Hagerty and also CVI. Any other names to try that have worked for you? It would be classic insurance but preferably unlimited mileage. Thanks, Matt |

Never heard of true classic insurance with unlimited miles. Post 1980 stuff has apparently risen hugely this year so the bargains are gone. I pay £199 or so with Hagarty 52year old, 2nd car NOT garaged on a 944 2.5Lux. Worth trying Richard at RH they're not bad. |

Hi Try Heritage 0845 373 4774, I have my 44 on classic 3000 miles a year and you can carry over any unused mileage, I think you can go up to 5000 miles on a classic policy, agreed value (very important) £225.00 |

Try need2insure http://www.needtoinsure.co.uk . They gave me a quote £180 if I remember correctly. That was for a garaged 944s2 with an agreed value and 5k mileage. Unfortunately I don’t have a garage so am paying double that! May make a small fib next year. Even without the garage they were the cheapest for my particular circumstances. Worth a try. |

I dont know what car you have ? but if it was a turbo then 266 would be around the right mark now. Folk are quoting what they paid last renewal and as mentioned above its going up month by month. October I paid about 240 if I remember on my 87 car but at the same time my 85 car was 198 with the same company, both turbo 944's. Usually the older the cheeper as they regard it as more 'genuinely classic'. This may sound like fantasy but believe it or not its actually true. Best of luck Mas |

Performance Direct (through Chaucer) very competitive, in fact any broker using Chaucer as the insurer (includes Carole Nash). I went with CVI, but mainly because they offered free Euro breakdown cover which I need this year, and I like to support a club sponsor. They are competitive only after applying club 25% discount - obviously no knowing how this will change in future but the discount is worth several times the annual TIPEC sub! |

Hi, I'm with Priviledge insurance. My 1989 S2 is £366 for 6k miles a year, work useage, off road parking, 10 Protected NCB. I'm 34 years of age. Only downside to this though is that I can't get an agreed value on the car like you can with most classic policies. Unfortunatley, all the classic type insurers I used will not insure for work useage. Some will but the policy then goes ££££££££. Ben ![]() |

Thanks all, CVI quoted £230 on 5000 miles, that includes 1500 miles business use. Footman James was £366 for 6000 miles and it can all be business. I only have business as some days I just want to driver her! I've a non turbo 2.5 from '86. It's a second car and garaged. I'm 42 with no claims accident convictions etc. A recent change with Footman James has been the move to over 30 years for unlimited miles. Last year it was over 20 years old. I think it's the little things like that which are changing as well as prices. I will try some of these suggestions but reckon I will only be tinkering around the margins. thanks, Matt |

I have unlimited mileage on my classic policy with Classic Line (one of only two I know that do it), My policy is fully comp, unlimited mileage, only car, kept on street in London and agreed value of £6500 for £364, which is very reasonable if you ask me...
