Post subject: | Roof and boot seals |
Hi All, I've been having a close look at the car today and want to replace the seals for the sunroof, door scraper seals and the boot seal. I have checked the usual sites for prices and costed the job. However, is there somewhere I can buy the seals cheaper,i.e not Porsche or OEM. As I cant believe that the form/ shape of the seals are 944 specific. Regards Jason |

Hi, I recently replaced my boot seal with the generic side seal from Frost. Considerably cheaper and its also a bit wider so it seals better. |

Do let us know if you have any luck! Been looking for sensible prices of rubbers for months. Biggest rip off on the car I think. £600+ for a full set inc scrapers for the 928. Robbery! |

http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp? ... 20Metre%29 This I think. Would be nice if it fits. I could do with a new hatch seal but £60 does seem a bit steep. |

Porscheshop have a hatch seal on eBay at present id 160377666250 for £33.50 +PP I think that is what I paid for mine but not from Porscheshop. You should also get TIPEC discount with Porscheshop. I paid around £70 for both sunroof seals for my car (the internal and external) but this was some time ago for the sunoof I would make sure you buy a reputable make or genuine Porsche as some can cause the sunroof not to fit properly. Not sure about door seals as not replaced them but I would suspect if you should be able to find a supplier to match the original profile and get a none Porsche specific item but I would think things like door scrapers would be very specific to the model or make. |
