Post subject:  Steering sqealing

Hi I have noticed over the past few weeks when I move of slowly on full lock I get a sqealing noise from the steering and I have also notice a bit of power steering fluid on the floor ua my power steering pump had it's day

Is it more of a sort of groan? If so, they all seem to do that. At least the ones I've been in, anyway. Don't know about your leak though.

Pressure relief valves groan, can sometimes be reduced or eliminated by draining & refilling with fresh oil.
The squealing could be the belt slipping, quite common as the oil filter & cooler is just above it & any drips fall on the belt. The leak from the steering could be a union weeping which they all do. Worth a check around the pipework though as it is steel & does corrode. If it dumps its fluid then the pump seizes & you lose all the assistance.

Thanks will check this week where is the union located the noise is a mixture between a squeal and a rumble only on full lock but if I leave it for a week gets fifty pence piece size drip of power steering fluid on the floor
