Question, probably for Jim.

Can the 944S take a gearbox from the S2?

Yes it can but the gearing is longer.

I have a gearbox for a 944S here for sale if interested, came from a car with a seized engine, drove fine before.

A list of the ratios here http://www.924.org/techsection/PorscheTrans1.PDF

You want the 8v lux N/A gearbox for the S. You will need the speedo sender as well. The diff' ratio will work better with the S & let it rev more. Will definitely go better off the line.

True, but JJ is telling him to get an 8v gearbox, which I would also be inclined to agree with it being a better choice for an S. I guess the S would still feel a little flat below 4k with an S2 'box.

How can that be as the diff' ratios are different. There are more than one part no' I was told I would need a new sender for the S2 box. Decided to slot the 8v n/a diff' in so it will go better in the end. Don't know what ratio the 2.7 has. Sorry. Try Jon Mitchel. I bet he does.
