Well Blue Rocket is going back into JMG next week to try and trace this problem again and just thought I would go armed with any info which could help. Jon being the 944 guru he is, is stumped at what the cause is. Symptons, very strong rich fuel smell from rear of car (I've cured all the fumes getting into the cabin as per former post with new seals all round), lot's of thick black smoke from exhaust on boost and I suffocate all people I pass (which is a lot) with carbon monoxide poisoning which they don't appreciate. Had a new AFM, injectors and 3bar fuel regulator, which is running couple a percent high according to Jon, replaced and this one reads the same. Put engine cleaner stuff down the spark plugs to clean out any carbon build up as instructed by Jon aswell. The spark plugs looked in good condition with a brown greyish colour to them. Jon's going to check various other sensors that test temperature (my eyes were glazing over as he described  ) thinking the engine is being told it's colder then it is so putting more fuel in which is then not being burnt (does that make sense?). Any other suggestions that might help before I poison half of Somerset?

Andy

Andy,

The cold thing so more fuel going in does make sense, but not to the extent you are talking about. Some small British sports car actually have a part you can fit to fool the car into doing this in a permanent basis to get an extra couple of BHP. It might be part of the cause, but not the full reason in my opinion. But the experts will get there in the end.

Good luck,

Lee.

Yeah I'm sure Jon'll fix it, Just thought it might help speed things up if someone else had had a similar fault and so tips to start looking in the right place. Whenever Blue Rocket goes down to Jon's it tends to stay there for weeks and weeks  and cost me more money   and I haven't had a real good blast with the remapped engined since I got it back last October

I let you know how it goes :?
