I would have thought that could be glued, filled and re-painted doesn't look like any is missing, I would try that before buying a pattern part which is unlikely to fit or a genuine item for huge money. |

That will repair. A bodyshop will do it for £100 if you don't fancy it & it will be a lot better than anything from ebay!! |

Thanks guys, I think ur right may as well try to repair (nothing to lose anyway). What would u suggest for glue to use?? Also if I manage to repair this I will then need to fix the threads to it (both sides need some doing) was thinking of using Araldite for this, any other sugggestions? Thanks Steve |

I don't think that Araldite will hold. The guys over on the 968 forum have tried all kinds of adhesives, some have even resorted to drilling holes straight through and using small countersunk screws and nuts to hold them. I think that something like Sikaflex or Tiger Seal comes out best, but can't remember off hand. |

Araldite is similar to the glue Porsche used to stick on the threads, It goes brittle after a while and the threads become detached. I used sikoflex on mine which seems succesful but as I only did it last year I dont know how long it will last. Out of interest,how did you break your surround? did it fly off when you were travelling as they are prone to do. |

From the pic it looks like fiberglass. And thats what I'd use to repair it. If you haven't used it before get a good body shop to do it. Glue is for bodgers. Once repaired it will stick back on with stickaflex but you will need to mask the surrounding area at the stuff gets everywhere. Put my bridge spoiler on with the stuff & it would smash before coming off. |

Yes guys it came flying off while travelling at speed & looking at the other side it could well happen again so will stick the threads on that as well. Ok well I was going to buy some Araldite today until I read your replys. So you would go with Sikaflex all the time? Where can I buy other than internet & can you get them in squeeze tube form rather than the cartridge method (as hate using them lol). Thanks Steve |

Dont know about squeeze tubes but motor factors will sell cartridges Ithink I purchased one for about £7 |
