Had my 944S2 booked in for its MOT on Saturday morning and fully intended to give it a check over before going, however I had to go away for a few days so had no chance to check it out. Saturday morning arrives and so does the severe frost, by the time I had the car open and defrosted to check the lights I noticed the NS high beam did not work and from previous times realised this was due to a poor fix of one of the previous owners which had caused the feed cable to snap (I had re-joined it onces but the cold had weakened the joint).
Too late to fix it I took it for its MOT telling the garage about the headlamp, sure enough the only thing it failed on was the headlight, I came home soldered a new joint in took it back and that was it passed for another 12 months.
The garage did offer to try to fix the cable but as I knew exactly where it was it seemed simpler for me to do it.
Only observations from the MOT were slight corrosion on the two rear short brake pipes to the calipers from the flexibles and slight play in the front wheel bearings, but these were only changed 4K miles ago so just need adjusting up, both jobs booked for me when the weather warms up.
