Something to do with the heater perhaps? Don't have it on my square dash car.

Looks like the heater control valve. But with it disconnected you would have a major vacuum leak which could be the cause of your stalling problem. I replaced all the vacuum lines in my car with a silicon kit from Lindsey racing. Cost less than £20 & haven't had a problem with the lines since. Highly recommended :) .

JJ, are you sure that the heater control valve is operated off the engine vacuum? AFAIK it has its own vacuum pump/reservoir.

I know when mine was loose (I changed it for another bend) that I had no issues bar a heater that was permanently hot.

It does on mine. But with cars of this age anything is possible. They could have been re piped before. On mine theres a Y piece to the brakes servo circuit after the heater. Close to the heater control valve. Haven't tried to see what happens if I unplug mine which would be the only way to be sure. Snow again here today so couldn't get out this morning. Sheet ice on the slope out.

Clearly not your problem. But there are a lot more vacuum lines than that going into my heater! Hope the DME relay fixes it!
