Post subject:  slave cylinder question

I ordered a new clutch master cylinder as mine looked like it had seen better days and the clutch system had packed up, problem is I actually got a slave cylinder sent to me.

turns out that wasn't so bad as the inside of my slave cylinder was absolutely dead and rusted so I went to fit the new part only to find that the input port was to the side instead of the top like the old one. this means the pipe that leads from the flexi hose in the engine bay can't reach the new cylinder. Am I going to have to send this one back and order a new one from Porsche (as most places only list 1) or will I have to fiddle about with stuff to make it work?

There is only one slave, two masters

Looks like I'm going to have to replace the hard pipe or do something else fiddly with it.

Not quite the news I was after.

Scratch that, a bit more research into it tells me that this part I have is actually a 911 (993+996 I believe) part which is why it doesn't fit.

The box it came is has Porsche stickers which have the right part number for the master cylinder yet a slaver cylinder from a completely different car. I think it's safe to say somebody cocked up somewhere.

All cars only have one master, my post was about there being 2 different models of cylinder
