Post subject:  944 S - turbo front end convesion

hi, I’m about to start my turbo conversion and have so far brought s2 bumper and lights and badge panel, bumper support bar and batwing, also been given the front S2 fenders 2 use as a template on my n/a fenders as there rotted away badly out at the bottom.

There’s a few other things, help please.

my left side front fender has a slight dent in it and the fixing point at d bottom has recently came away in the snow, I just checked why and found it has rotted away, I was just feeling the under Neath just now when a bigger peace just came away. So I now need 2 replace or mend this as well. I’ve got three options,

1st repair mine.

2nd, buy a second hand passengers side front wing with no damage or rust/rot (steel) na and mod 2 fit turbo bumper like the other side, or get one s2/turbo wing.

3rd, get new gpr fibre glass wings. I just phoned both club sport and pro 9 both offer wings club sport £125 and pro 9 £95, or Porsche shop £165. Has anyone had any expenses with the quality and fit from ether off these?
Fitment of fibre glass is often not great without much time and patents, but no more rot, however? Impact or collision damage?

All so the N/A head lights don’t match the turbo badge panel so I need s/2 or turbo headlights, or as club sport helpfully suggested is 2 make up the slight difference around the Conner of the badge panel with filler.

Rear spoiler, I’m looking 4 the 968 look, I brought this from eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Porsche-944-Bridg ... 14ce47d366
Months ago £80 and need 2 heavy file and fill with filler 2 get a decent fit (£20 worth of chemical metal and body filler, sand paper, round file. Had 2 mount it with row plugs as the screws would just rip out the other side as pulled across and mounted. Which wasn’t 2 bad or UN capable job, however there is a twist in it and I’m not 2 happy with the finish or the spray painted rubber sides. So I’m thinking 4 peace 968 sprayed black with the spoiler colour coded. Has anyone used or had experience with these spoilers
EBay, £120 same place my bridge spoiler with twist and fitment issues came from. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

Or club sport offer 968 £265 fitted checked and then UN assembled which has the very same photograph as the Porsche shop which are £340

Cup/aero wing mirrors
Both my wing mirrors have been hit recently and both have dents in them now, so I was thinking of replacing them with cup mirrors
Again club sport offer some at £150 plus £100 for the glass so £250
Or Porsche shop at £500

this conversion and re spray is goner cost what an cheap s2 is, but in the 6months 7000miles off ownership, iv had the cam belts ,water pump and rollers changed, head gasket and top end reskimed and vale guilds e.g. new power steering pump, 18” wheels with new p zeros all round, full service ,oil change and filter twice. Dizzy cap plugs and air filter, stainless exhaust. New windscreen and driver window. All on a car that drove faultless home 360 miles from Cornwall.
£1400 for spray job,
£100 stickers and stone guards
£100 new window sills
£100 colour centre caps
£195 4 window tinting (maybe)
£500 for bumper, lights, badge panel,
£250 leather recondition and dye

Plus wings and headlight issue
Wing mirrors and spoiler

finshed plan
Thanks 4 your time and replies

They aren't 968 side sills, they are from the well known German co. the name of which completely escapes me at the mo.

I love the second one down! The bottom red one is very similar to Micks one of my members.

Spoilers are a begger to fit. It's held on with stickaflex & located with screws. But to drill the holes for it the glass had to come out. Took hours. Which it had to anyway as I only removed it to refurbish the hatch which was rattling! Buy a good one complete with the tailgate from Porsche apart. Then just get it painted. There easy to swap over but will take two of you. Mine was twisted too but I just forced it into position. Screws did there job until the stickaflex grabbed. Not a job for winter. Too slow to go off in the cold. Unless you have a heated garage.

Seen those sill covers on Deutsch nine site but they don't list them in there catalogue. Link anyway is http://www.deutschnine.com/porsche-transaxle/index.php They might be able to help.
The rear wing is easier if you can find one already fitted to a hatch then just swap hatches like I did. Topic and pics are here http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?t=5097
Liking the finished look you're going for.
