I apologise in advance if this is a really dumb question, but i couldn't find any simple instructions or howtoos on setting the idle on my car. I know i can adjust it using the idle control valve but there is also a little screw that sets the defualt stopping point for the flap that controls air coming in as you rev. Do i set the default position first? and if so what is that? and then tweak with the idle valve? Is there anything else i need to keep in mind or tweak to get optimum idle? thanks in advance

I removed my throttle body from the car and gave it a thorough clean including completely removing the idle control screw. There was a large collection of rubbish at the bottom of the screw which wasn't helping matters and other parts were quite blocked also. I've never touched the stop that holds the butterfly still but it seems pretty spot on as it is.

Sadly I have no before and after comparison as the engine wasn't running before I cleaned it all out but it's still worth doing.
