Trying to get a friend's Lux out of hibernation on Sunday... She started after a couple of turns and idled smoothly so all well there. Tried the electrics to find the brake lights weren't functioning - then, while fiddling with various light on/off combinations, instruments all fell to zero (engine still running sweetly). Now have car which runs fine, but instruments don't work, and brake lights don't work. Wiggled all the fuses and relays (particularly fuses 18 & 19) but no change. Is there somewhere obvious I should look???

Good news it's running well! Electrics the worst faults on my lux at the moment too. I'd start with earths for the rear lights. Instruments probably not related. But you need a multi meter. Does the dimmer switch have power going in & coming out. Are all the cables clipped on properly behind the dash. May just want the contacts cleaning.
