Just got these from a guy in America. When fitted I should be able to see how fast I'm going in the dark 8)

It's a good idea. Each widget replaces the perspex in the instrument clusters that has gone opaque with age. And contains an LED. They come in four colours. White, Red, blue & green. I just went for the white ones. They cost £20 + P&P. Even if youir unlucky & Sean intersepts them they are still cheaper than a flaming eye kit. (If you can get one.)
Will let you know how I get on fitting them & what they look like! If they work & fit well where they are from :)

 I know. Made the decision to keep it so now I'm working on getting it right. After all I've spent on it last year. Think I should finish the job

Are they the Jager Engineering ones?
I think that they sell them on Ebay too, but I thought that they were more expensive than that.

Nope, those look different to the Jager Engineering ones. Cheaper, too.

Try looking at http://www.ultraleds.co.uk. Their 501/194/T10 led is a direct replacement for the bulbs in the instrument assembly. I fitted them to my S2 and they work a treat, oh and they are only £1.99 each + vat, p&p etc. Since buying them they now do 4 different levels of brightness. The ones I bought are polarity sensitive and are not marked + or -, test before re-assembling the instrument cluster.

Wow, they do have some great stuff on that http://www.ultraleds.co.uk site. Looks like I'll be changing a lot of bulbs on my S2 for l.e.d.s now.

(Lucky for me, they are cheap as chips, eh?)

Pulled the console out & fitted the LEDs. They just snapped in. Trouble is that theres no power! So they will never light up  worse I noticed that there are hardly any bulbs in it. Many of the warning light bulbs are missing. Guess what will happen when I fit some new ones.... This is going to get expensive again. I bet every sender unit is goosed. Stuck it back in for now. Need a shed load of bulbs. Maybe a new console.
Can anyone tell me what the 4 bulbs are on the right that are missing? They would be top to bottem between the temp/fuel gauge.

There are meant to be some bulbs missing(warning lights for features you car hasn't got). shine a light down the hole and see what lights up. I have a spare clock set that you may be able to nab some bits off if you want.

Post subject:  Re: The Solution to dim instruments?

Thanks Ben that could be handy. Think mine has a problem anyway as theres no power to the lights at all. When I turn the iginition on the only light that comes on is the ignition/handbrake on light! Think there should be a few more than that
maybe it's the winds but my ISP is acting up at the moment. Problems posting/connecting!

Are any of your other interior lights coming on like the ones the iluminate the switches, fog light switches and that?
I'll post you the clock set if you want,Its a little chorroded but it worked OK when I removed it. Its a shame you're so far away otherweise I'd offer up my skills with a multimeter.
Ben....
