Morning all, purchased another S2 yesterday but hopefully won't be getting broken this time. Low miles and very cheap so not complaining. Sill on drivers side is a bit grotty and the drivers arch is a bit crusty round the lip but nothing that can't be repaired. 10 years of old MOTs with it so mileage is genuine, cylinder head was rebuilt at 71,000 miles! Clutch done as well so a bit of a bargain I think! Few jobs to do, will do the belts and pump just to be safe. The clock and backlight even work!!!

Well done Alasdair.

Looks a cracking car in the fastest colour too (when will that joke end?).
Did you get the private plate too? All you need to do now is change your name to SOM  Seriously, i bought a similar plate to that a few years back for my wife for £300 and now its worht £1200.

Cup 1's look tasty too.

What are the plans?

It does look a bit of a bargain! Hopefully the body work will be reasonably priced to sort out too.

Plate came with the car, I also got £100 off so only paid £1900 for it! Will get it up on the ramp on Saturday and assess the underneath to see what the sills are like. The underseal is starting to bubble on the driver side so will need taken off. Engine looked nice and oil tight, last water pump was done in 2001 so due for one of those. Will do the belts as well. Needs a back left wheel bearing so will do a minor back end refurb while I am off work over Christmas. Will probably do both sills and re underseal it. Front of drivers side wing was not too hot and there is a bit of lacquer peel on the fornt bumper. All minor issuettes! Drove OK and made all the right noises so quite pleased with my purchase. Lots of nice big bills in the history file that came with the car. Even got the original S2 brochures as well which made for a nice read at work today! I seem to have an appointment with a black turbo for front seals, blets and a pump in the coming week so that will keep me out of trouble!

Out driving it today picking up a rear wheel bearing for it, goes OK, slight shudder from the brakes and there is a bit of coolant loss but nothing too major thankfully! Plenty to keep me occupied. The wheels are growing on me, need a refurb though!

Well done on your purchase. Though if it's a bargain or not you will know better in a year. Hope you have better luck than I did. :)

Depending on if I get my next set of wheels (some 944 Club Sports in 16" guise) I have some good condition 17" Boxster/Carrera 2 wheels if you want them.

It may be a while though as I wish to get the geometry setup on my car before I change anything else.
