My 944 S2 has now been laid up for the winter as is normal. I have over inflated the tyres, connected to trickle charger and placed a cover over the car, is there anything else I should do. My main question is, should I run the engine occasionally over the winter, the car is not taxed so I cant take it out on the road until I retax it in may. My car does not get a lot of use. I purchased the car about 6 years ago at a milage of about 39000 miles and the milage is now about 43000. I am not sure whether running the engine during the winter is a good or a bad thing to do.

Can't hurt to get it nice and warm once a month or so.
It seems a shame not to be able to use on the (few granted!) crisp dry days.
Even S2s go better in the cold
Is it insured normally or just a fire/theft policy currently?

I would start as the cam & balance belts could kink if left in the same position for too long. Might help the water pump also. But it will have to warm up properly. Modern petrol goes off as well so you need to put some fresh in from time to time.

Leave the handbrake off & chock the wheels to save the handbrake seizing on. Deffo start it every fortnight & move it backwards & forwards. Run it until the fan cuts in.

What do you mean "put away for the winter"?

What strange language is that? :)
