Hi, well it has happened...I am to become a daddy and very sadly I need to get something that I can carry my new baby in

So the time has come to sell on to another front engine Porsche lover. So, I am offering for sale my 1986 944 2.5 (85.5 model year with the oval dash). Mechanically it is in great condition at (c)119K miles, I have spared no expense in keeping my lovely car in tip top condition. Jaz in Wembley have maintained it since I bought it from 911 Virgin in Uxbridge (if you know henry firman, you know he only sells amazing cars) 3 years ago with regular services and additional work to bring the car up to standard. The underside is great condition, I think it spent a lot of its life in europe where there is no salt on the road. The electrics work reliably, boot release and all, I just had all the starting electrics replaced. The interior is good also, no cracks in the dash, carpets are all in an excellent state. The rear seats have been deleted properly! The front seats are custom leather sports seats professionally fitted and suit the car well. On the exterior the wheels are 16" teledials painted in gloss black with highly polished rims. Yokohama's are fitted with no more than 5K on them. The paintwork is in good condition for the year but the sunroof is beginning to fade slightly and there is some lacquer coming off the front bumper. It is best to take a look but other than those two facts I think the paint looks amazing! I also have a slated front nose (924 GTR'esc) and a rear slotted valence with a wonderful sports exhaust. The front wing also has great "Carrera" detailing.

I have loads of paperwork, porsche and porsche specialist service history and other bills.

I would be thrilled if I could sell it to another 944 enthusiast so I am not advertising anywhere at this point...I think this a great opportunity to own a 944 that not only looks amazing but pulls and drives so wonderfully, it always puts a massive smile on my face when I get in it!!

II am thinking £5000 given its great condition!

I am happy for any professional inspections, but they may have to be arranged on a weekend.

Please ask for additional pictures...I far too many to post!

P.S. I also have a ruby red renault clio, with only 24K miles only, full service history, in good overall condition. I am afraid that is all I can say about that.

Best of luck but without upsetting you it sounds too expensive to me.

I advertised my 1991 944S2 98K miles big history, a few months ago and got a few callers but not many and that was selling at £4250. But it does only rely on getting one person who wants to buy it.

Yeah, I was really only taking a punt because I was not sure on the price...so I appreciate the honesty!!

I am guessing less, so reasonable offers I will consider!

Thanks
C

If it helps I saw a decent 2.7 go a few months ago with excellent bodywork (I'm sure it had seen paint), good wheels (but they were slightly pitted), non working clock, slightly worn bolster, 12 Months MOT and FPSH up to 90k with specialists receipts from then on go for £2.5k.

Would you consider a swap against a Dolly Sprint? A mate would consider your car if the insurance is reasonable.

Here is some good news!

I managed to find a very nice Alfa 156 Sportwagon 2.0 JTS for 6K, only paid 3500 after I traded the clio...so I get to keep my 944! All in the car world seems sunny again, see you all at the next outing!!

Hi,

You could put the rear seats back in. I use my '89 '44 S2 for transporting my 2 kids around. My daughters 4 years old and my son is 4 months old. I can fit the wife in too but she complains about the cramped seating position in back (lucky she is petit!).

Fortunately, my wife drives a PT Cruiser so plenty of space when required even if it does drive like ass!!

The 944 is a good family sports car. Glad you kept it. I remember seeing that one advertised a number of years ago on 911 Virgin website.

Nah, don't think I want the back seats in, missus complains about getting in and out of the front seat now! I told her now we have the alfa she can drive that and I will put a baby seat in the front of the 944...she didnt like that :)

I have a baby seat that fits the back seats of the 944. 0-9mths. Very useful those back seats! Just replaced it for a bigger one.

I got it from Ebay! Its really a travel carry cot & lies across both back seats on a bean bag that fills the wells. It fixes to both rear seat belts & is fully type aproved. Small babies just want to lie down anyway. It's made by Jane & was big money when new. It forms part of a pram & mine was never used as a car seat. I still have the pram which converted to a push chair. (Jane Matrix.)
The new one is a standard Mamas & papas. She will be into the standard seat in a year.

nobodys going to care about how well youve kept it. Its only worth what someone will pay for it. which for a c plate will be about £400 to £1200. Dont beleive me put it on ebay or pistonheads for £600 and i gaurentee you will only have replies from comedians asking you "whats the least you'll take for it". Keep it if you can.. nothin is selling at the mo. If you do sell it then your better off breaking it. i got over £300 just from breaking an oval dash (and i mean just the dash- not a whole car) and still have over half the dash left. lol

Ribena I had people interested in mine at 3K. There are a few people out there with more than sawdust for brains. But it cost more than that just for the engine. Still got it. :bounce:
