My 944 turbo came with turbo twist (cup 3's). Its an early car (1986) without ABS. I have been told that this is an early offset car.

I like originality, so am looking for a set of 16" teledials to fit my car - although everyone i know is telling me the twists look better!

A freind has offered to swap the 16" teledials on his 1987 944 turbo car with the wheels on my car.

Question is will my wheels fit his car and will his tele-dials fit my car?

They may fit but will be later offsets, if you take one off then it will have an ETxx stamped on it which is the offfset. This should be around the 22-23 mark for an early non-ABS wheel & will be 50-55 for a later wheel. You may get away with them with spacers you may not.

As Jim says; theyll certaily fit, but you may need 30mm spacers if your car originally used very hard to find 23mm 16" 'dials originally.

28-30mm rear spacers....21-24mm front spacers for proper alignment.

Suprising amount of people prefer Teledials.

My brother and I recently sold a couple of 87 Lux. One had the deep dish teledials.
The Red car had Cup 3 style twists and the owner was happy with it until he saw the BlacK Lux with its teles.
My brother had an 89 2.7 with shallow teles and tried to swap them over. Told him it would not work but he still tried....

The deep dishes stuck outside of the arches of the 89 and he could even drop it down off the jack. The red 87 with the shallow teles looked silly because they were sitting so far inside the arch.

He had already found a buyer for the Black 87 so he contacted her and sent her pictures of her car as original and with the Cup 3's next to them. Lucky she prefered the Cups and agreed to a swap. Everyone was happy apart from my Bro who desired the Cups.

Footnote
The chap with the red 87 later traded his car in against the 89 2.7 and my bro got the red 87 back again of course without the cups......

Thanks for the help guy. Im starting to get my head around this minefield.

Found these on Eggbay.....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110450415820&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Adverts says that they are from a 1986 turbo and were made for one year only.

I have also had someone offer me a set without tyres (ET23) 16" Tele-dials finished in black with polished outer rim.
Looks fantastic, but at £400 without tyres - it seems a bit steep.
