My new baby has I suspect , the original front wing turbo decal. I say suspect its original as the red has almost completely worn away so it needs removing.

Is it safe to do the warm it up wth a hairdryer and peel it back and off or is there an even more sneeky way. I have never done ths full stop and have just heard of using the hairdryer to warm it ?

I also have a couple of Welsh dragon decals to remove even though I have to say I am a serious fan of Wales being an ex Herefordshire resident

Cheers Mas

Warming with a hot air gun normally works, don't fry the paint! If the stickers are old they very often break up rather than come off in one piece.

Make sure the decal is warm enough but don't burn it.
Abbey Porsche ripped away half the paint on the arch of my first Silver Rose removing an arch protector.
They did not heat it enough.

Hot NOT boiling water and pull gently, i suspect the Turbo decal on the wing if Red is not original AFAIK only Black and Silver were available from Porsche :bounce:

It's a black car so I assume it would have had Silver then.

Whilst we're here :P , I dont really like a black car , I bought the car because I think it's a good car, even with the colour not being my prime choice.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to brightning it up without a colour change. Personally I thought a few silver decals without going mad might be nice. I dont want to turn the car tacky but I do think plain Black is a bit on the minus side.

Regards Mas

If you keep a black car very very shiny it'll always turn heads. Easier said than done, though!

Mas,

Black can be brightened up. Find a vynil cutter near you and see if you can 'wrap' your car.

I have contacts if you need them. The look can be from full colour change (expensive) through to quite delicate.

This car looks nice

I thought of something along those lines and defo silver but I know some will think its tacky, I think a sort of race car colours type set up looks really nice if done right.

I got the turbo wing decal off , hot watere and it peeled strraight off but the glue I had to t-cut off. As for the welsh dragon well the glue has burned white in to the paintwork and should never have gone on, obvioulsly not a proper glue for paintwork.

Im going to have to cover that with something and defo leave the other one alone for now.

Totally mistaken on my part , I had wacked the car in the garage in the dark on getting home , the dragons are red the decal as you rightly suspected was Silver but so worn off it was almost translucent.

Baring in mind the car is black and needs a bit of silver here and there I may well purchase a new decal
