Got to pick up my new head hopefully tommorrow. Was thinking it's time to replace the water pump at the same time. along with the belts. According to the service record it was done last in Jan 2005 with the engine rebuild. There are two types available. A new outright one from Porsche. Lots of money but should be ok. Or a rebuilt one sold exchange. Reading Clarks garage the rebuilt ones have been known to fail! Will need a thermostat as well. Plus a head gasket set. Any thoughts before I place another large order at JM garage

If it is still ok, I'd be inclined to leave it. Most owners do not replace them until they have troubles anyway.

When your head is put back on remember the dial the cam in. Failure to do so could cost you as much as 10-20BHP.
