hello,

Firstly I'm new to the site so hello everyone!

Finally got some money through for selling my Bay window camper, so i'm now in the market for a tastey little 944.

It's going to be my first porsche so I'm after a tidy (low hassle, if possible) example. Prefferably from a Porsche enthusiast rather some doggy geezer type.

Any colour considered, also any interior, obviously air-con would be nice.

My budget is about £4500 including insurance so i'm after a tidy Lux or prefferably S2.

Let me know if you've got one for sale or know of anyone, would greatly appreciate it.

I live in maidenhead in Berskhire, so a localish car would be preffered but I am willing to travel for a good example.

I would preffer to pay £4000ish now for a good well maintained example rather than £3000ish and fork out a load of dosh in the first year.

cheers

better to pay the 3k and keep 1k up your sleeve. its better than paying out 4k and then getting it to where you want it with an additional 1k or so. even good examples with good service history will cost you as you go.

If it were me, I'd be tempted to try and find more cash and pay £5k for the one on PCGB with the KWv3s etc. Failing that, the one on here seems pretty good too.

Hello. You might be lucky & get a good S2 for 4K but you must have at least 1K in reserve. Make sure you read Jims buyers guide on this forum & Join the Club first. Then you can go out in some & discover the differences & what to look for. Good luck its certainly a buyers market at the moment. :)

I'm not so sure it's still a buyers market, there are some cheap cars out there for sure.

Prices appear to be rising and I reckon that will continue.

i have the same opinion sean, if you look at ebay even, you can see that the prices are going upwards. the 2nd hand market in general is doing this tbh. a mate of mine was selling 30 cars a month this time last year, now he cant buy at auction for the prices he was selling for. scrapage thingy is doing new car dealers all the favours, but murdering the 2nd hand forecourts.

I think you should be able to get a good S2 for £4000. But, as mentioned earlier make sure you have a spare grand in reserve if you need it. I pumped 2k into mine within 6 months!
