For a car with 2 doors the central locking system seems mighty complicated! Easy question first, where does the c/l relay live? Now for the challenging bit! I have the factory alarm option. The remote opens and closes the doors perfectly. If I use the key in the drivers door it only opens the drivers door. If I use the key in the passenger door it opens both doors! From inside the car if I push either button up or down nothing happens on the other side. If I push the console button it locks both doors and lights up red. If I push it again it makes the right noise but the buttons don't lift and red light stays on. If I put the spare key in the drivers door and alter the lock position the console button can sometimes work correctly, but no apparent logic to it. I have also noticed an unconnected multi plug in my drivers door. 4 wires in a straight line, plug has 2 lugs, left of pin 1 and right of pin 4 (I think 2 brown wires, 1 red, 1 white from memory). At present it is lying on the bottom of the door under the door lock. Please help, very confused! |

Not much help forthcoming guys so I stripped the door panel off today and found that the little box that controls the LED door lock button was in the wrong place and it was fouling the mechanism going one way. Some bright spark had it mounted on the solenoid with a tie wrap and it was interfering with the push rod thing. Anyway, I have put it back where it should be and all is well. Thankfully nobody has been at the other door which is still the way Porsche left it 20 years ago! ![]() Stuart |

Often the case with old cars. I had problems with mine due to the door switches dying. The system didn't know when the doors were open leading to being locked out with the doors locking & unlocking themselves. Or once being locked in. ![]() |
