Hello all,

We did a trackday at Woodford in Ipswich yesterday which unfortunately resulted in the engine on our 944 lunching itself! Suspect oil got a little warm, it growled at us about half way round the lap and by the time we got back to the pits in just pinched up. I managed to get it running but it knocks like a big knocking thing! :-(

Anyway its done well considering.

So I have decided to restore the 924 to track worthy condition and use as many of the 944 parts on it as possible. But that will still leave a huge amount of parts that I wont need to if anyone needs anything for a 1984/85 non oval dash model please let me know.

I will start a thread in the parts for sale section listing bits as they become available but if you need anything send me a pm and I can let you know if still available.

Thanks

Neil

Havent you considered repairing your 944? Reasonable engines can be bought from £150 upwards...

I have thought about it but unable to find an engine for that sort of money. A decent runner seems to be more like £300+ unless I am missing some.

Simon what would you consider to be the going rate on an S2 engine, or am I looking north of £500 there?

Non Vultere mode... What's the offset on those Fuchs? If it's 50ish would you consider selling them?

I've got an S2 engine that's for sale. It's done about 70K miles. I genuinely don't know what its worth though.....

Not sure about the S2 engines but all 944 engines seem to be rather expensive.

Not sure on the offset of the wheels they are off of my 87 911 and are for sale just not put the add up yet. They are 6j and 7j 16" wheels.

Thanks

Neil

When I was asking around for an S2 engine recently, prices from the usual sourcecs ranged from approx £1000 (inc AFM and ECU) to £2500

I'm after various bits from a non oval dash 944. Mine has had a bit of a bump in the past and during the repair various bits seem to have been tossed aside instead of being refitted/replaced.

An M44/41 engine will usually be north of £750. Ive seen several that Id take a punt on on eBay at the price Ive quoted (£150 for an 8v). The best ones have a too-high starting price with ancillaries, which you can hear running. When theres no interest theyre frequently sold bare and out of the car. Ive seen two sell for about £150, in this way.
