Well I have a slight problem with my 1983 2.5 944. story is as follows...............

All week ive noticed that occasionaly as soon as you get over 5000rpm the car holds back and splutters a bit as it its hit the rev limiter, this didnt always occur, just occasionaly.

Today i drove to the shops, got out of the car, came back 5 mins later and started up and drove about 20 yards at which point it cut out, It then wouldnt restart. We towed the car back to my house.

Ive just been out and when cranking the fuel pump runs as it should but there is no spark, ive checked the outputs on the DME Relay and I seem to have 12v at the correct pins when cranking.

at first i thought maybe it was the coil but i put a multimeter on one of the injector connectors and i seem to be getting nothing when cranking. Therefore im now thinking ECU could be goosed. There is no hint of starting at all.

Ajy inputs/opinions on this one? what kind of voltage should i be seeing at the various terminals on the coil?

Problem Resolved.............. I replaced both Reference senders and it fired up fine although i do now have a missfire at low revs/part throttle whicvh i think is down to a dodgy coil as it looks like its seen better days.
