I think to someone it is. The 924 Carrera GT's have gone for more and this is a genuine Cup car with a bit of history and a load of upgrades.

I think he is being a little optimistic in this climate but as Dave said someone might pay.

Very rare car, quite collectable so it looks about right to me. 924 Carrera GTs go for near this money & there are more of them around than Cup 944s.
That car would probably be OK to historic race which would lift its value as well. I remember the article on it & the journos were quite taken with it as well.
It'd be even faster in White but you can't have everything

This car isnt particularly original. An '86 German car should run un Fuchs wheels. The 8" & 9" magnesium ATS wheels were introduced for the following year; but it doesnt have all of those upgrades, making it a bit of a mongrel.

He has more chance selling it for £20,000 than he does for the £30,000 that he tried for last week!

I think that's usually happens with really used for racing as opposed to those that are bought and stored. If you want the car to stay competative you've got to upgrade it. So does a car that has been raced make it more valuble or less?

Nah it's a race car, most are like Triggers broom  Always make me laugh when people buy ex-race stuff with history.

I see your point: but it hasnt been upgraded to the 1987 spec. If it had itd be sporting a strut brace and a GRP bonnet too. If it had all the 1987 spec features then I wouldnt have commented: its because it doesnt that I think its a mongrel.

Hi,

£20k is far too much in my opinion plus you're sitting on the wrong side of the car. I don't think it looks particularly stunning either.

£20k is serious money which could go towards a decent 964 with change left over, or a 993 plus a bit extra money. Each to their own though. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc etc.

i think £20k is a bit ambitious as its got little known race history, it was featured in one of the porsche mags a while back

its only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. doubt you get more than 3-5. Maybee less as its left had drive.

I think that you are confusing your poorly informed opinion for fact.
