is it true that fitting 18" wheels on a s2 can cause the abs light to come on? |

I can't see why, subject to two things ;- A. you don't spin a wheel with the ignition turned on, this will bring the ABS light on. B. The wheels are fitted both ends & you don't try 16 on the front & 18 on the back. |

Hi ![]() The bit about 18s is rubbish... The sensor and abs disc is on the HUB...nothing to do with the wheel... The abs system senses a DIFFERENCE in rotational speed between wheels and it cannot tell what size wheel is attached to the hub...UNLESS you put one 18 inch on one side and one 16 inch on the other side of the same axle lollllll Abs sensor light problems are an absolute pig to diagnose....don`t ask how i know lol...it took me over a year to find the fault with mine...eventually myself and Paul Anderson discovered that the sensor WIRE was very slightly abraded and was earthing through the lower arm ![]() People who blame wheel size do not understand how our old abs systems work.....don`t forget they were some of the very first in the world.... All the best Brett ![]() |
