anyone on here running a straight thru centre pipe on thier 944? if so where did you buy it from? or does anyone know the bore size of the standard centre section on a 944 so that i can make up a straight thru pipe. My 944 sounds far too quiet and refined for my liking! |

Have a Dansk center pipe. With the rear it's sounds very rorty on throttle but as quiet as the stock one when you just tickle it. Pretty useful some times. Got mine from Bert Gear (Berlyn serivices.) |

My 944 sounds far too quiet and refined for my liking! Exhaust on my turbo is 2.5". Upgrading to a 3" straight through exhaust from JMG with 3" turbo downpipe aswell, sounds amazing I can tell you and can't wait. Tig welded instead of cheaper mig welding and mandrel bent so the smoothest bends, not crushed like the factory effort and welds will never break. Not sure what car you have but JMG also do n/a engine models aswell. Bit more pricey then others but the best build quality and the only company to do a turbo downpipe in this country. http://www.jmgarage.com/modify-944.htm Prices include fiiting but they do supply parts and ship out also. I believe that unless you have a cat, all centre sections on 944s are straight through. I could be wrong, but IME this is generally the case for most cars. This is unless you mean that you want to delete the mid section out for a bit of straight pipe. |

is your car a 2.5 or a 2.7? the centre silencer is BIG on 944s and it will be very loud if you have a striaght through pipe.. more so on the 2.7 which had a different centre silencer to that of the 2.5. No way will it pass mot if its as loud as what mine was when i fitted the dansks full system for a 2.5 to a 2.7.. had to change it for the 2.7 dansk with the larger centre silencer to quiet it down. cant imagine how loud it would be with just a straight through pipe going to the rear silencer. |
