does anyone on here have a Dansk Rear silencer fitted to thier 2.5 944? I love my 944 but its just a little too quiet for my liking, id like it to sound a little more throaty, im considering buying one of these rear silencers but wanted to know if they made much difference at all?

Mine sounds great with the Dansk rear half. Not noisy but fruity enough to be good. And a first for an after market exhaust for me no nasty resonances at any point in the rev band. It also released a noticeable increase in power as well.

fruity you say? dont happen to have any videos/sound clips of the exhaust in action do you so that i can gauge its level of 'fruitiness'

Mine has both the front & rear sections. Dansk. It's worth about 5HP at the wheels & makes the car sound fantastic! It's also cheaper than a new Porsche system. You have to cut the front pipes from the manifold to length & the trim on the rear box is best drilled & bolted on or the single weld will eventually fail & you will lose it. Worth getting a fitting kit with new bolts & rubbers to make it easier to fit. :)

Best guage of how fruity it is are the people who turn around to hear whats coming up behind them! :D

Not sure if Fabspeed or Maxflo do anything for the 2.5. They are very well made all tig welded and mandrel bent so less restriction on air flow. I have a copy of there's going on my car in couple of weeks, I'll ask if they do any other versions. Otherwise I've only heard good reports about Dansk.

The Dansk is well made, very shiny and comes at a reasonable price - my cars have both had a Dansk rear box for the past few years with no problems.

JMG have just started doing their own stainless steel exhausts and they do list one for the 2.5 Lux but it costs a bit more than the Dansk

Like Andy, I'm about to have the the 3" turbo system fitted to my 3.2L, but in contradiction to virtually everyone else I am wanting it to be as quiet as possible ( I hate Saxo stylee 4 pot exhausts - shudder  )

Can't wait eh Paul. Going to pop in to JMG tomorrow to finalise some of the other mods :bounce: I'm same though on the end sound. Want a deeper sound not a loud sound. Hard to explain but the video on the Fabspeed website sums it up http://www.fabspeed.com/944Turbo.html

Went to JMG today and there exhausts are very very well made very impressed. They do a 2.5" rear section replacement and can do a centre section or anything else for that matter. If you want fruity, then there's will fit the bill. Look great, and last forever.

Saw your car down there Paul, strangely 4 Baltic blue cars including mine were parked in a row 8)

I have never noticed that page on JMG's website before, was it added recently ?

I fitted a Dansk to my S2. I only changed it because the original one was broken. It cost £148 from Euro Car Parts. Porsche wanted £1055 for original equipment.

As for the sound, the neighbour at the bottom of the close used to know I was turning round outside his house because his letter-box would rattle, but now it doesn't. Personally I cannot tell any difference, and if there's nothing wrong with the one that's on your car I'd wait until it needs replacing.

Then again, each to his own.

Forgot to add that I recently had the Dansk fitted to my S (OE one was falling apart) and it does make a slightly 'throatier 'sound but nothing intrusive.

Yeah Jon is adding bit's to it all the time. I didn't realise he makes a lot of parts for other companies and retailers. The 3" turbo downpipe for example is exclusive to him and he ships that out to Fabspeed in USA because they couldn't find anyone to make it as it's a complicated shape. He also makes the little rear wiper delete plugs to seal the rear hatch screen and sells them to people like Porsch-Apart etc who retail it at £20+ but Jon's has 2 seals that the water needs to get past unlike others that only have the one on the outside.

Whatever you need he'll probably have and now it's easier to find with the new part of the site. He's hoping to get an online sales section going aswell in the future as the prices quoted at moment include the fitting costs.
