Hi everyone ive just bought a 944 '89 2.7 lux. its great really happy with it, 95K immaculate in and out and full Porsche service.. but only had it two days and have a issue already!!! last night i missed my turn and so reversed about 50m up the road. anyway later on in my journey i noticed a slight whine on acceleration and deacceleration not when maintaining speed though, this noise comes from rear of car (possible diff) and is in every gear. also when car is just coasting no noise... Obviously im a little dissapointed but still love the car and was wondering if anyone could give me help on this issue?? Thanks again Jimmy |

It could possibly be pinion bearing but I'd check that the gearbox has oil in it & what oil is in it isn't old & knackered. If it is pinion bearing I'd do an oil change on the box & then see if it behaves itself if it gets worse then a s/h good box would be the best way out. |
