just how much movement in the top coupling would constitute a mot failure? mine is listed as "slight wear" after a porche indi inspection. was looking to change it but does it need it? you can hear a slight knock, at the joint, when you get soemone to "jiggle" the steering wheel. at the wheel you can feel a very slight lack of resistence fron etf-to-right and vice versa. if you were to measure it at the edge of the steering wheel i am sure thet the diff would be no more than 5mm. this seems the same as all the 944's i test drove, as well as most other cars that were not brand spanking. is there any parametres? |

That will pass the MOT or should anyway. It will soon get worse as it now has no grease in it & will get cooked from the exhaust. I'd get it changed in the near future. |

I couldn't believe the difference when I tightened up the loose pinch bolt on mine ![]() Shame it didn't get spotted on the free OPC inspection or the service at a well known indie either! |
