Hi all,

I am having an alarm dilemma also. What I believe is the original Porsche alarm is driving myself and my neighbours nuts. It goes off at the slightest provocation (wind, rain, high temperatures etc) and various people I have spoken to have suggested I might be able to adjust the alarms sensitivity. Does anyone know if this is possible, if not, how do I disconnect it? (slightly alarmed at the idea of an armoured box behind the dashboard).

Hi Marcus

I had the same problem with my GTS. Neighbours complaining, sleepless nights everything.
I took it to alarm company and got a Clifford fitted. The same company sorted out the factory alarm too.
It was a huge relief and well worth the money.

if its got a factory alarm, IIRC there should be a rocker switch on the LHS of the centre consol which (i think) disarms the ultrasonics

It may help if you operate the 'recirculate' button on the dashboard; thereby closing the vents and making ultrasonic false alarms less likely.

Thanks guys, the recirculate button has made no difference. I will try the rocker switch (always wondered what it was for...)

Thankfully I haven't lost my passenger seat through the roof panel as yet....! I have depressed the rocker switch and all it has done so far is cause an LED to light up underneath it when the ignition is on, nothing when the engine is off. I don't yet have the confidence to leave it armed overnight so I'll keep an eye on it and let you know how I get on. Thanks. M

I bet you feel chuffed now you've got an extra option. I know I was when I discovered what that switch did.
