Well I've done a bit so far
Drivers door lock that would not pull down lock button (no C/L) with key - Done but needed the help of my 8 year old daughter to pick up the small link bar which dropped inside the door more than once. Clarks garage tips said it was fiddly - wrong! its extremly fiddly. Now I could do it in the dark with a blindfold on but took 2 hrs to get there and a lot of cursing!
Rear hatch. Yes I discovered that adjusting siezed catch bolts shears them off. Bought a pair from Frazer parts and this 100% fixed them adjusted perfectly you must have an M6 spline drive though.
Heater on full - not the usual problem but similar - under the bonnet a cracked Y on the small vac hose fixed that.
Rear wiper did not work but the motor did - the nut was loose - tightened and away it went.
I have found the alarm - it looks non standard so a bit of chasing to do there I'm sure it won't be Cat 1 which my insurance co is insisting on.
Put the steering wheel back on straight - its a club style wheel, the horn is difficult to make work reliably. Today it stopped after a lot of fiddling about on Saturday when it did work! Mabe I'll make a new fitting with a microswitch or two to sort it out.

Left with two urgent things to do
I'm convinced the long clutch pedal travel is just lack of bleeding but I can't get under the car at the front because my ramps hit the front skirts first so I'll have to modify them with a longer lead in with a wooden ramp. I can see why they are often left not properly bled. I've got a Gunson pressure bleeder to hand.
And the handbrake - holds the car very well in the forward direction but not very well in reverse, so a pig to do hill starts in my very hilly town! Don't know what the problem is here so will have to strip them down I've some history saying the cables were replaced a couple of years ago.

Then I need to move on to engine routine servicing if I can cope with the grief from the dear wife.

Always satisfying to get lots of small jobs done.
Handbrake may just need cleaning & adjustment. If you take the shoes off use NEW retainers as old ones will break! Alternatively the shoes may be knackered as people drive around with the handbrake on which knackers them :o At least the cables have been changed as it ain't the nicest of jobs.
Clutch bleeding is a pain, be careful waving spanners around here the starter terminal is LIVE!

If your ins. Co. want Cat 1 have a ring around, mine is OK without & mine isn't garaged.

Well done mate, satisfying to get your hands dirty and fix things yourself. I've never touched a car before except putting the fuel in, now I'm doing all sorts of little jobs like yours (door locks, wiper etc) The grief is just a side effect of classic car ownership I'm afraid, it'll get better I'm sure :?
