On Sunday I travelled to Knockhill circuit to attend an event with Scotlish region.
I took both my cars with 3 people on each.
My brother drove my Silver Rose (944 Turbo S) and I drove my 5.4 L quad cam 928 GTS auto.

Basically the Rose managed to make the 360 mile journey easily on a single tank of fuel. The 928 did not.
We also compared full acceleration and handling on many occasions.
The 951 had a very slight edge on the 928 though the ride, comfort and ease of drive in the 928 was better,
Likewise despite having fully adjustable suspension on the 928, the M030 armed 944 had the edge.

Maybe on the continent at speeds over 150mph the situation may be reversed. While have to try it sometime.

The turbo s is designed as a more focused race car ain't it and the 928 a grand tourer for munching the miles and then when the turbo isn't spinning at cruising speeds then fuel consumption drastically decreases also. Whatever you have the best two cars to enjoy both experiences and i'm not jealous at all

Does the Turbo S have the same size fuel tank as the S2 85l because if so the rate at which it used fuel was extremely high around 19mpg, I can't imagine how bad the 928 must have been to be worse than that!! Or you must have been driving excitedly for a long way, I can get nearly 500 miles from a full tank granted not spirited driving rather round town stuff which is probably worse. Unless the tank on a Turbo S is 65l like my 924S in which case the mileage was brilliant.
