Post subject:  944 S2 Fuel Filter

The last time my S2 was serviced ( under previous ownership) Hartech made a note on the invoice that the bill did not include a new fuel filter as the unions on the existing one had seized. I haven't looked for myself yet, but if Hartech couldn't shift them what chance have I got?
Knowing the importance of the filter could I leave it well alone but fit another one between it and the tank on the grounds that the existing one shouldn't get any dirtier and that the new second one will be changeable, as long as it doesn't seize too!!
Anyone had a similar experience?

The fuel filter is a service item every 24000 miles so if it cannot be budged it must have been on there a looooong time and will be pretty cruddy and not doing a good job of filtering your lovely fuel. If Hartech can't remove it that is very worrying.

I can only imagine some sort of cutting is going to be involved now, which will involve draining the tank :-(

Mine looked pretty grim & I got La Rose to do mine on a service because. A. its a damn sight easier on a ramp. B. if they bu99er the back nuts or ipes they'll fix it.
If you try it yourself get some decent flare spanners it makes pipe work unions so much easier......
