Hi & welcome Brian

My first thoughts are is the gauge working? Also how are you testing it? If you are reving it static then you won't see boost as the engine needs load to give boost. After that it could be down to leaks through the masses of pipework.

May be on tick over the gauge is set on the 0.4 when it is normaly on 1. I guess the only way of testing is by replacement

Have you tried hitting it? Works for most gauges in mine including the speedo  You could get technical & check the connections. Probably just sticky. May even fix itself with regular use! My speedo did :?

In the NHS, we like to refer to it as 'fine calibration' when working on medical equipment!
