At Harewood House last weekend the fields were full of owners sat next to their cars on folding chairs. I noted that the people with tables were the owners of front engined cars.

One chap with an early 944 had his family sat at a table with a full size outdoor umberella. He had managed to fit the lot including two baby seats in the car. That is style.

I commented to him that should get 'THE PRACTICAL PORSCHE' printed on his shade!

Went to pick up some stock from distibutor other day. Got 32" LCD tv, Flat pack glass stand, 22" LCD tv and 10 pvr recorders in with the seats down. Who needs a van  Told the guys it was so I could do the fastest deliveries in the South.

We did the first TIPEC NEC show carrying all the whole club stand in 944/928 series cars.
When the high speed ferry from Ireland was delayed 12 hours myself and the ex-girlfriend slept in her 928 (thank goodness I did not take my 968 instead).
Alan Wells the then Club Secretary used his 928 at club camping expeditions in place of a tent.
I used to take a 4 section 15 foot flagpole in my 951 as well as the tent and gear to club camping events,
Porsche kept a bunch of the last 928 GTS's for 5/6 years as factory company cars using them as high speed load carriers.

Front Engined Porsches are really practical.

In my younger days with my first 944 I used to get a 4x12 Marshall speaker cab, 4u rack unit, 3 guitar cases plus an overnight bag in with the seats down. Who needs a limo to turn up at a gig :D

I’m always happy that I can fit a seven foot Christmas tree in the ’44 when that time of year rolls around. I know I could get a bigger one in, but then it wouldn’t fit in the house!
