Post subject:  Seat problem and electric seat has no emergency adjustment

Hi Guys,

I've just got my GTS back.
The drivers is stuck at the extreme back position so we can't get to the seat bolts.
I've never had a problem with this seat before.
The Motor works but the cable on one side is jammed.
What really foxes me is that the car has NO WAY of manually adjusting the seat.
The drivers manual and the workshop manual show an alan key emergency adjustment.
Porsche appear to have done away with this on the later cars.
I have my Silver Rose parked next to the GTS and on the 944 Turbo I can see the emergency adjustors.
My GTS simply DOES NOT HAVE THEM!

We have sprayed inside the cable etc but no luck getting them moving.

Any suggestions that do not involve matches?

PS
Yesterday a 928 S4 was weighed in for scrap metal at a local breakers.
What is the world coming too?
Will try to go and see it today.

Can you not wind the spindle by attaching a wrench to it?

Hi Sean,

The cable is tapered so we ending filing a bolt to suit and putting a spanner on it so we could move the seat.

Hi Sean,

I have clutch leak on the 944 as well so doubtful if I should chance either of them in what is likely be be a quagmire.
I'll speak to my brother tonight. May chance it in the Rose or go a spectators in a BMW.
