Good clip. But it's clips like that that put me off track days. Can't afford to be taken out by spinning Ginettas.

I always wanted to have a Porsche I always wanted to race cars. I have owned a 944s for some time and a 924 turbo after some years in the making I raced at croft lastweek end. Like all racecar drivers I just need more power the turbo engine knocked its bottom end out and a last minute replacment was a 2000cc 924 scrap yard engine that had stood for 3 years. It only got an oil change and a set of plug leads befor it went racing at croft. Yes that was an Imp There is a Imp Coupe flying around here, that is seriously quick, rumoured to have over 180 bhp |

Yep that was full on racing and if it all ends in a lump of twisted metal at the first corner and you walk away from it you have had a good result. That’s why I have a car that could be reshelled for £200 and maybe two weeks solid work. If I am honest I should have a XR 2 they get them down to 650Kg and up to 300 BHP with the Z tec twin cam these XR2 can win class over all(For me it had to be Pork) At the front of the race you have the likes of Ken with his 6R4 last years over all winner was a man who runs a Seat dealer in Scotland and he has £80,000 touring car complete with carbon under splitters and diffuser. You get the odd light weight Lambo ex Tim Harvey Mondeo and Dave Botterill runs a 924 Carrera GTS or a 968 turbo engined 944 built by Strasse (I think he owns a large chunk of the company.)He got a light weight 911 RS replica as well. For the last 4 years I have spannered for Mick with his BMW and there have been few balls of twisted metal. The odd prang, bumpers and door handles have been lost in the heat of racing and on the odd case a very nice 6R4 lost its original front air dam. All drivers concerned were called to the clerk of the course and reprimanded. As a novice I must obtain 6 signatures from the clerk of the course to up grade my race licence. Cleek of the course will see that I don’t get in the way when the Seat, Cossies, TVR or any other car come round to lap my underpowered 924 got to keep an eye out for the blue flags. I have two signatures at the moment and plan to get another two in September at the double header Saturday and Sunday last race of the season. By the way the IMP was listed in the program as a Singer, but I thought the Singer was a coupe version of the IMP but the Singer on you tube looks like the saloon IMP type? Runs in the historic class |

I think the max is around 130BHP from a big bore 1200ish cc jobbie. I've built a variety of engines for Imp, great fun & rev like sewing machines! SInger was two models the Chamois & the the Chamois Coupe, the Californian was the Hillman version or for some market was the Sunbeam. |
