Thanks for all the feedback and comments. I'm not displeased with the result, but I still have some work to do with regard to dispersing the individual LED's with an opaque spacer and distance from the lens surface. A bit like a cross between a row of LED's and a neon strip if that makes sense.
Kev - they have that blue tint which would suit yours a treat.

Good point about MOT - if it's a possible issue, I can always disconnect and revert to standard. If I keep them, then I'll utilise the redundant sidelight by fitting these little cuties..

And here's the difference they make on a lux....

Put the 2 together and the result should be interesting
As a result the standard feeble main lamps will look rather yellow and I'm considering replacing them with HID 6000K which should be a better match.
Insurance....hmm..maybe if they pass MOT I'll tell them and check.
Visibility of the indicator....if you look inside the unit, you'll find an unecessary baffle which I cut out and this gives better light across the lens and from the side. I've tried 25 LED cluster bulbs and they are far too directional to be of any real use - plus you need to fit resistor to fool flasher relay. I reality, the indicator is still easily seen.
Are they available in amber?.......

Again the single LED's need diffusion IMO, but the strip(waterproof) is small enough to fit along the top edge of the lens as well. I'd leave the amber/silver bulb, then no flasher problem

FROG 944 - First thing to do would be to get some clear front lenses
ben944 -all good points, and I hate fogs on in day with a passion. My aim is to produce something that looks integrated and OEM ish. They are to be seen not to see with - I just hope they don't attract too much of the wrong attention. I do feel a bit self conscious I have to say
