Just having a look at the front calipers at the weekend and noticed the inner pads aren't moving much. So I guess it's time to deal with the usual plate lift issues, but the inner side of the discs are also corroded so I'm replacing them as well. So to my question...... I have the M030 calipers and was thinking of upgrading the discs while I'm buying new ones, but which discs to use? I've seen a few articles about using 964 turbo discs but can't find anything about if I need to space the calipers out or use at least 17" wheels. Anyone done it or know for sure what is involved or have any other options? |

This page tells you all you need to know about fitting larger disks to use with the M030 calliper (you will need at least 17" wheels or they won't fit underneath) http://www.sandher.com/Mark_Cole_BrakesMod.htm |

Thanks Paul. Not sure it's worth the effort to get an 18mm bigger disc and I reallyu don't like the idea of the pad being offset and sticking out from the caliper. I think I'd rather find some big red/black calipers made for the bigger discs. So I'll ask a slightly different question. Is it worth getting the 968CS drilled discs? From memory I think it's about £80 a side for the 944 M030 discs but £200 a side for the 968CS ones. Or is there another alternative anyone knows about? |

To be honest if the only change is the drillings I doubt you'd notice the difference, I've had drilled discs on cars in the past & all I've noted is a fraction more noise! |

Just to go a step further then. Anyone got an opinion on any particular disc manufacturers? ATE, Eicher, Sebro, Zimmerman etc. |
