I started out today to replace the fuel filter on my S2 but found that the fitting on the pipe from the fuel tank (or is it the fuel pump?????) was corroded into the filter inlet it has also been butchered at some time in the past. The nut head almost completely rounded off. Despite trying everything I know (Not a lot) and buckets of penetrating oil I was unable to release the nut so had to give up the job. Has anyone got any tips on how to free or undo the ******** fitting????

I wimped out & gave it to an Indie to do. That way when the nuts round off they can sort it much easer on a ramp!
It'll need the pipes from the pump stripped off & dismantled on a bench. Good flare spanners can help here.

If it is the line from the pump to the filter then you could buy an new hose and just cut off the old one from the filter as long as you can remove the pump end.

Dave thanks for the info. After further investigations as you say it looks like I have to replace the pipes from the pump. After the job I am going to cover the pipes in copper grease and wrap in plastic and secure with cable ties to protect for the next change.
Best

There is what looks like a good condition second hand Bosch pump and all the hoses and fittings on eBay from the US at present starting bid around £34, looks like all the bits you need to replace the pump and associated hoses, not sure of postage from US but you could ask. Just enter 944 fuel lines into eBay.
