Hi Guys thought I'd join up and show you mine lol. After looking long and hard I came across this 1986 944 turbo that had been fully restored and feel in love with her I have posted a picture and write up that was with the car when it was advertised will hope fully get some better pictures when the weather improves. Would love to hear your comments and any advice you can give would be greatly received . Also thinking of showing her so again any advice would be great.
thanks Greg

Absoloutely stunning 1986 944 Turbo. This car has been meticulously restored from an uncrashed ( HPI checked ) example by a dedicated 944 Turbo enthusiast. Meticulously restored over a 3 year period in spare time with absoloutely no expense spared and only sensible updates. Huge file of reciepts, thousands spent. Only a few hundred dry miles covered since rebuild. Some spares also available if required

Succesful bidder must view car and BOTH parties be in full agreement before final sale documents are signed or the car stays with me.
Arrival of ( expensive ) new wife and wallet eating house restoration forces extremely reluctant sale of what is probably the best 944 Turbo in the UK.
Body and interior
Stunning full leather retrim by Southbound auto trimmmers ( Porsche retrim specialists - the best ). Seats are all electric and include electric lumbar support option. All Carpets as new. Momo sports steering wheel ( leather )
Body
Complete ( stripped to bare metal ) body shell and engine bay respray. Doors and bonnet painted separately. The paintwork, panel gap and alignment is flawless and better than when new.It took over one year of project on body and paint alone . All glass unmarked. New window lifter motors. New headlight lifter mechanism. Alarm system. New indicator lenses etc. 968 Spoiler. ( Original spoiler comes with car )
Running Gear
Fully refurbished and unmarked 18 inch GT3 wheels. Fully rebuilt front and rear suspension using 95% OE parts. New steering balljoints and trackrods, new OE front wishbones ( not reconditioned - £ 600 !) Brakes uprated with fully refurbished 944S calipers and disks. Every single brakeline renewed. Braided stainless Brake hoses. Front and rear suspension, stripped, cleaned and painted in two pack paint or replated to original specification where applicable.
Engine and Transmission
Engine is 100 % oiltight and does not burn Oil . See Pic of instrument panel - engine running on tickover - full oil pressure.
New Water pump, New OE belts and all tension / idler pulleys. Cylinder head rebuilt with new valve guides and seals. New H/D clutch and master / slave cylinders. New radiator. New bearings fitted in transmission torque tube. All Coolant hoses replaced. Wastegate rebuilt , New bearings and seals in Turbo. Air con system fully rebuilt and operational. Rebuilt gear shift linkage. New rear driveshafts and CV joints. New synchro rings in gearbox ( Gearbox has Limited slip diff ) . All metal bright work in engine bay renewed or replated to original spec.

hiand thanks for the replies yes shes was on ebay in the classic section though for some reason not the General motor section which I think helped. I went to York for her the guy was fantastic and use to do up Aston Martins with his dad so new his stuff I have folders os info on her and all the history plus photos of the work she is like a brand new car all the people who have seen her were blown away and commented that the photos did not do her justice. I had been to see quite a few around the country but did'nt rush in when I saw her for real I was blown away the drive back from York was a real buzz with loads of looks along the way I have joined the central region and will be poping along in the new year.
I probably paid over the odds but it was worth it I'm sure and If your happy with what it cost then to me thats all that matters. The new leather intior was 2k alone and the paint job over 3k let alone the engine rebuild etc.The wheels cost me an extra 40 pounds on the insurance when I told them what they were then I found out recon ones with new tres cost around 1400 oops. Anway hope to see you all soon around the country my wife is well looking forward to it . Be intrested in your comments regarding what she cost and if you would like to know anything else please ask.
thanks Greg

The next Central region meeting is Monday 14th January 2008 @ The Red Lion, Earlswood. It'd be great to see you (and maybe your Porsche) there.

Hi Greg

Welcome to the Forum - The car looks absolutely stunning - I think you can safely say you picked a good 'un.

If you plan to come along to clubnight on 14th January please drop me a line and we can meet somewhere and drive down together.

Look forward to meeting you and seeing the car in the flesh

Regards

Paul
