My Porsche 944's engine cuts off for split mili seconds when going over bumps. I also feel that the rear suspension which is brand new is and has always been very erractic and noisy over bumps, and the engine cuts off and then resumes normally, a situation that is worsening. Car handles with no issues on normal roads but has this cut off issue since I bought it (3 years ago), which now has started to occassionally occur on minor bumps even on motorways. What is the engine cut off & erractic rear suspension due to? (Ive received feedback in the past that it could the fuel pump and rear connections, also been told could be the battery connections). Any ideas?? Could it be transmission, engine mounts?
Thanks.

Mine did this cutting out thing too. I also had the fuel filter replaced, but to no avail. It was a dirty plug on the side of the MAF. I found the problem by accident. Then I took the plug off, cleaned it, put it back on securely - never had a problem since.

Quick cuts like this could well be ignition. Check the AFM connector (it's not a MAF as such, 944 are too early for that technology) & also the two flywheel sensors have connectors on a bracket at the back of the engine bay, also the coil connections are tight.
And something I always do is push back in all the relays & fuses as they tend to work out.
