Hi Guys

Not looked at the car as yet but haynes manual for 944 does not appear to cover fitting a new speedo cable. Can anyone give tips/advice on fitting before I go about it the wrong way.

My tip is if you need a new cable go to the OPC, they have to order it but I've been quoted £10.67 + vat will be here on Friday. :D

Quite common to find OPC cheaper than indies.
The Speedo cable runs from the NSF hub (as far as I remember) up to the speedo, the speedo end will bayonet into the speedo head, the lower end is held by a circlip into the hub. Be careful when threading the cable,it is quite possible to short out electrical things & also make sure if follows a smooth curved path as otherwise the speedo will jerk like mad.

After routing it; itll be far easier to connect the speedometer head end first.
