Hi All, New to the forum. Trying to get back into Porsche 944 turbo ownership after a while. Had a 944 turbo se, 968 sport and a 911 carrera 3.2 - but loved the '44T the best ![]() Have found a Zermatt car with half red leather for sale. Its registered as G983 SRH. Its got rusty sills. Anyone know of it? I plan to make a fast road car, ~300bhp. Cheers Rav |

I'm near Shaftsbury which is Dorset / Wiltshire border, so might of seen it up this way or could take a look. Or ask Jon Mitchell http://www.jmgarage.com/ He'll have records of service if it,s been into his garage. He prevented me from buying a lemon last year because he knew the car and what the garage selling it had not got fixed on it ![]() Jon's also got some tasty cars of his own in various conditions for sale at the moment (cutting his collection down), might be worth a look. Good luck Andy |

Aerial Andy - Thanks for the advice. I know Jon and the gang down south quite well. I have been trying to make contact with Jon about a Silver 944 for some months, but they never return calls. Your baltic blue SE sounds nice, is its last three registration letters NMR by any chance? I used to own a baltic blue 250 se car With G*** NMR as the plate. It went to Jon after a minor rear end shunt. Pauly - Yes it was I that posted on Rennlist. The car IMHO was'nt worth restoring. Rot had set into most of the panels and as im not a hands on kinda guy, it would have cost a lot of labour to get sorted. It had been abused for a long long time. On top of that it was red which as you guys know, turns pink if not looked after. |

Andy, Wowsers - It was a wreck when i bought the car. I spent loads of hard earned with Steve Bull specialist cars in Devizes to get the car to good condition. Mechanically the car was awsome. It really went well. My wife loved to drive the car, even when she was heavily pregnant. One day a Swindon bus went into the back of her at a roundabout. Jon and another guy called leamoth? came down to swindon to collect it at 10 at night. We used the insurance pay out to get a 968 sport, but i have missed the Bang from the turbo ever since. Pictures please !!!! Rav |

Hi Rav Click on this topic, http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?t=1933 got pic taken when I first picked car up and new sills had just been fitted. They're all finished and painted now, badges on and sunroof replaced. Spoke to Jon this morning about wheels and mentioned you were trying to contact, said he'll drop you an email if that's ok. He's still got the silver car with red interior. Andy |

Thanks Andy. The picture brings a tear to my eye. I had plenty of sideways fun in that car. I even drove a 1.1 corsa hire car all the way up to Bradford (from Swindon) to pick her up. She was sitting in between Ford Sierra Cosworths that had been Max powered. NMR was the start of my addiction to Porsche. Hope you have fun with the car. Keep us all up to speed with the work you carry out on her. I hope to be along with my 250bhp car soon ![]() BTW: Pop me a PM with how much you paid for the sill and the labour to install them. This car im looking at on friday will need new sills, fitting and spraying. |

Paul - thats my problem. 968s are still so expensive and i wouldnt want a cabriolet. 944 is the best bang/buck ratio by far. |

I was offered what seemed to be a straight 968 for just over £5k recently, if I didn't have my turbo I would have done the conversion on it, but I could see it costing me £10K and a lot of work so I gave up on the idea. |
