I believe the boss from an early 944 will fit and possibly even the later one, my 924S has the same steering wheel as my 944S2. I bought a Momo boss for my 944S2 to fit my Momo wheel and although I haven't tried it on the 924S it looks the same. You can buy a standard 6 bolt hub for the 924/944 pre86 which should include the 924S for £53 inc Vat from Porscheshop, however not sure if this a Momo one or not and the Momo Boss is collapsable and mine only cost £42 inc vat. |

VW K70, Golf 1&2, all Sciroccos, late Beetle, early Polos, Derbys, Passats; AUDI 80/90, AUDI 100; Porsche 924, 924S, 944.1, 944.2, 911C2/C4 all use the more slender splined shaft. Early Beetle, VW T2, torsion bar 911s and the 928 use the larger diameter splined shaft. Simon |

It's made by Ektor, I picked up one of those, I ended sending it back because I thought it was so badly finished. The Allen key they sent with it even rounded. I thought bosses were supposed to give if you smash into it, the ektor one didn't look like it would. |

Ektor have a very poor reputation. For a cheap solution Id suggest Mountney: for best Id choose Momo. Simon |

in regards to the Ektor bosses, they have different reference numbers for pre and post 1984...1475 and 1408. Does this mean that there is a difference between early and later 944s? |

I have fitted the same Momo wheel and boss onto a plastic switched 924; a 951 and a 968. |

WARNING If you fit a momo boss for the late 944 onto an early 944/924 (they are the same except for the indicator lug) then the car will go on fire when you turn the wheel!!!! Dont ask how I know ![]() Mike |

I nearly bought the Ektor boss as it was so cheap but as ha been said earlier it looked very cheap and nasty so I went for the genuine Momo boss around £50 inc postage but I think this is the only 6 bolt aftermarket boss which is collapsible, it fit really well with good quality bolts and fittings and it also maintained a similar distance for the wheel from the dash. |

Was the Ektor boss from a place in Bournemouth? I bought one (from a place as mentioned above), and it was shockingly badly made. When used, it made the horn sound at some rotational positions ... I sent it back, and got the cost and the postage (and the cost of my postage back to them) back. Had to argue pretty hard mind, but if they choose to sell tat like that they deserve everything they get. I think that early and late 944's had different fittings. Golfs certainly did (it changed some time during the production of the Mk2. Early Mk2 steering wheels won't fit late Mk2 cars.) Oli. |
